Dear Parents/Guardians of pupils in Junior Infants - 2nd classes,
In September, the Department of Education announced extra teaching hours for schools called CLASS (Covid Learning And Support Scheme). The idea of this is to give pupils additional teaching hours to help address learning loss among pupils during school closures. The number of hours depends on the number of pupils.
We have 187 hours and therefore some pupils in Junior Infants - 2nd class will receive some extra supports around a range of different areas depending on their needs - reading, writing, phonics, spelling, etc. Mrs. Elaine French will be the teacher to give those supports every Mon - Weds.
We are delighted to get this extra support and we hope to give it to the senior end later in the year.
