Weekly Update from Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians,

P&FG Meeting

Our parents met last night and they were delighted that almost €2,500 was raised from their Christmas lines and cards that were sold. A huge thank you to all the school community who supported their efforts.

Parents are asking for anyone who is free to help out for Grandparents' Day teas and coffees to come in from 9.30 - 12 next Friday January 27th.

Also, if parents want to drop in a few buns for the day that would be greatly appreciated!

Grandparents' Day

We welcome grandparents from 10 - 12 next Friday January 27th.

Fr. Matt Boggan will hold a mass for Grandparents who wish to go on Weds. February 1st at 10am in Ballymitty Church.

On the day, mass is being celebrated by Bishop Ger Nash to mark the start of 2023 and Catholic Schools Week. This takes place at 10am in St. Aidan's Cathedral, Enniscorthy.

We will put this mass up on our screen in the GP room next Friday for 10am if any Grandparents wish to come in first and have the cup of tea.

If anyone wants to watch the mass at home it can be viewed online using the following link: https://www.churchservices.tv/enniscorthycathedral

Confirmation

The Confirmation is on Friday March 24th at 11am in Carrig-on-Bannow church. On the day of the Confirmation, Junior Infants to 1st classes will not have school. 2nd - 4th classes will be singing in the choir that morning so parents will have to arrange a drop off at the church for 10.40am and collection at 12.40pm. All of the classes involved will be going over for a rehearsal the week before. For now, the pupils are busy preparing for the Confirmation with Ms. Kehoe.

First Confession and First Holy Communion

2nd class are also busy preparing for these sacraments. First Confession will be held on Weds. March 29th at 7.30pm in Ballymitty Church. The First Holy Communion will be held on Saturday May 13th at 11am in Ballymitty Church.

Masses

Over the coming weeks and months, Fr. Boggan has kindly invited one class over to mass each Wednesday at 10am. Next Weds. 2nd class will join him in the church.

Well done to our wonderful pupils who took part in singing, music and poetry today in Carrig Community centre.

We had wonderful performances and some winners who go through to the next round. Well done everyone and to the teachers involved!
