Weekly message from Principal

Dear Pupils, Parents and Staff,

Well done to everyone on another successful week in school. Our pupils are getting excited now about getting their holidays next Friday Oct. 23rd at the usual time of 2pm/3pm.

We are having Dress Up Friday next week and the pupils can wear their Halloween outfits. It is a fundraiser for Down Syndrome Ireland so if the pupils can rob their own piggy banks it would be super!

We have had some callers to our school complaining about smoking in the carpark. We ask parents to refrain from smoking at drop off and collection times.

Please support the Team Hope online Shoebox collection this year. You will find the information on www.TeamHope.ie

Next Friday for our end of half term we will do our usual Prizegiving. I will pop into the classrooms on Friday and the teacher will present the prizes. Each classroom prize giving will be recorded and popped up on our website for parents to see.

In line with Government regulations and restrictions, we know that everyone is doing their best to stay safe at this time. Our only priority here is to keep our school open and to make sure our pupils are here everyday. If there is a school/class closure it is at the discretion of Public Health. Schools have been asked to draw up their plan for school closure under guidance that issued last week. We will have information under a new tab on our website called Supporting Home Learning. We just hope and pray that we never need to use this information.

Let's keep each other, our families and our communities safe. Well done to one and all who are working hard to keep our school community safe.

To finish on a funny note - we have all heard the excuse that "The dog ate my homework". This week, a dog DID eat someone's Mental Maths homework! But it was a clever dog and only ate up to Week 7! It brought many giggles to one of our school bubbles!

Regards,

Audrey
