Dear Parents/Guardians,
Some reminders and updates for the week ahead:
The school is almost ready with all last minute touches happening today and tomorrow. An official handover happens tomorrow mid morning so we hope that all staff can access the school thereafter to prepare classrooms. It has been a huge amount of work done in a short amount of time and thus far, we are very happy with the work. Our school will be warmer, more ventilated and with the new windows a brighter space to be.
We re-open for all staff on Thursday at the usual time of 9.10am.
Staffing for the new school year:
Junior Infants/Senior Infants teacher: Ms. Shelly O'Grady. Junior Infants will finish at 12.30pm for the first 7 days of school. They will finish at 2pm on Monday Sept. 8th.
1st Class Teacher: Ms. April Dowdall as teacher.
2nd will be in with 3rd class boys for the year ahead with Ms. Deirdre Franey as their teacher.
3rd class girls will be with all of 4th class - so this will be 3rd/4th Class - Their teacher will be Ms. Áine Foley. This was a late decision made because the numbers were uneven between 2nd/3rd and 4th. To ensure the greatest support for all pupils, we are moving 3rd class girls in with all of 4th class. I emailed all of the 3rd class girls' parents last week in relation to this.
5th class teachers will be Ms. Orlaith Keogh and Ms. Nicola Cullen on a Job Share basis. Ms. Keogh teaches every Mon and Tues and then Weds. is alternated by both.
6th class teacher in Ms. Tríona Bohanna.
An Choill Bheag teacher is Ms. Rachel Butler and An Choill Mhór teachers are Ms. Róisín Kenny and Ms. Trish Foley working on a parental leave Job Share so they will do a full week each starting on Thursdays.
SET team will be Ms. Denise Fitzharris, Ms. Bríd Casey and Ms. Elaine French.
We have 8 in our school now - 4 of those will work with An Choill pupils and 4 will work between mainstream classrooms.
Uniform
Please note this year, we are asking that pupils only wear Navy shorts in keeping with the school uniform.
Hoodies for 6th class are available for collection on Tuesday from 10 - 2pm and on Weds. from 9 - 3pm.

Fresh Today Hot Lunches
These will recommence on Thursday for the Senior infants to 6th classes. You will need to go in and make the usual changes for the week ahead before Thursday at 6pm.
Junior Infants' parents will receive all necessary information about how to log in and change lunches this week and those Junior Infants will receive the hot lunches from Monday Sept. 8th.
Sickness/Allergies/Medication
If your child needs to take any medication, you must request an Administration of Medication form from the school office.
