Dear Parents/Guardians,

Carpark opposite school

A reminder to all who drop/collect the pupils - The carpark opposite the school will be out of bounds from Monday Jan. 26th until the building works for the new hall finish. We encourage everyone to use the church carpark and to be mindful of not parking in the smaller carpark as mass goers use that one. We encourage children to walk down to school using the pedestrian crossing.

We thank Ballymitty Hall Committee for allowing us to use their carpark up until now and wish them all the best with their building works.

Thanks everyone for your understanding.

GAA

Training for Rackard League hurlers from 4th - 6th begins on Thurs. Feb. 5th in Grantstown GAA pitch/complex. The school is closed for pupils that day but Liam will be over in Grantstown if pupils want to go over from 3 - 4pm that day. Please note there won't be any staff members present on that day to help out/supervise. We will continue with Thurs. training until Rackard League matches start which will probably be towards the middle/end of Feb.

GAA on Fridays at 8.30am continues - if raining it is held inside. Please remember hurls and helmets on Fridays.

Scór

Well done to all our competitors who have been busy practising. The first round of the Scór competition will take place next Weds. Jan. 28th in Carrig Hall from 10am. We would ask that any one who is taking part to be there at 9.30am. It is nice for all pupils to support the different groups. Ms. O'Grady will be there to welcome all of our pupils to the hall. Ms. Casey and I will be there throughout the day. If parents/guardians/grandparents wish to see some of the acts there is no definite time but the order is as follows:

Figure Dancing,
Solo Singing,
Recitation,
Ballad Group
Novelty Act
Instrumental Music
Set Dancing

We wish all our competitors the very best!

School Lotto

Many thanks to those who have joined our School Lotto. If you have not joined you can check it all out on our page on our website - https://www.ourfundraiser.ie/org/ballymittyns/ . Each week, there is a draw and someone wins at least 20 euros. Helena send the money to the winners every month so if you have won and haven't yet received it Helena is sending out envelopes today. She sends them monthly in line with our school accounting.

Art Class

Claire's Art Class runs next Monday 3 - 4.30pm and please bring in the money for Claire or send it on Revolut.

Chess

We have a great chess club up and running and we will choose two teams to represent the school in the annual tournament.

Quiz

The Credit Union School Quiz will be held in Rathangan Hall on Fri. Feb. 6th at 7.30pm. All teams have been picked. Parents bring the children to the quiz and must stay with them as there won't be a staff member present for the whole night.
