Dear Parents/Guardians,

School Closure

A reminder that there is no school on Monday next Oct. 6th due to no electricity in the area.

Erasmus

A small of team of myself, Ms. Franey and Mrs. Mary Hayward, our Board of Management Chairperson head to Turin, Italy tomorrow for an Erasmus trip. We were lucky to link in with Mary Wallace who visited the school on the day of the 75th celebration last May. She has linked us with schools so we will visit three schools next Monday and Tuesday. As always, the objectives of our Erasmus trips are to observe best practice in special education, to see what technology they use, to see how they create an ethos of inclusion and diversity and finally, I like to observe leadership and management. We wish the group all the best and safe travels.

GAA

Well done to the boys' Mini 7s group who won their blitz on Weds. They will go through to the next round.

Parents and Friends Group AGM

This was held on Tuesday evening. To see the updates we ask you to read our article here: http://ballymittyns.ie/News/Parents-and-Friends-Group-announcements!/910229/Index.html

You will see the next fundraising challenge which is to create a BUZZ in BALLMITTY! The parents plan to sell crocuses and snowdrops with a view to everyone sowing some pretty flowers and create some food for pollinators! We will let you know when they are for sale soon!

Spanish lessons

Each year we apply for the Say Yes to Languages grant so we are once again doing Spanish lessons for the 5th and 6th classes. These are for 20 weeks, one hour per week per class. These lessons start next Tuesday.

Have a lovely weekend everyone and stay safe!
