I am sure it is a busy time for everyone! It is up here too! The children are all busy preparing for our Christmas performances.
Some reminders and dates:
Christmas
Whole School Christmas Mass next Weds. Dec. 10th at 10am. This is a Christmas mass but also a mass to thank the Board of Management as it is 50 years since Boards came into existence. All parents/guardians, grandparents, community members are welcome to join us.
Junior Infants - 1st Class Play: Tues. Dec. 16th 11.30 - 12.30pm
5th & 6th Class play - Tues. Dec. 16th 1.45pm - 2.30pm
2nd - 4th Class play - Weds. Dec. 17th 1.45pm - 2.30pm
School will close for Christmas holidays on Fri. Dec. 19th at 12 midday.
Coding/STEM
The new curriculum which schools are becoming familiar with outlines a greater focus on STEM with more time to be spent on Science/Technology/Engineering and Maths. In line with this, we have booked TekCentral to come in to all our classes for 6 weeks of Coding after Christmas. This will begin on the first Tuesday back - Tues. Jan. 6th. Although the Department of Education want us to spend more time on STEM, unfortunately they do not give us any extra funding for this. This means there will be a charge of 20 euros per child for the whole 6 weeks. We cannot offer a family discount unfortunately and we will supplement the cost of the classes from the school lotto.
Absences
There is a lot of sickness at the moment and we hope it clears for Christmas. We do ask parents to please fill out the absentee note on the iclassCMS app if your child is sick. If this is not working, re-install the app again.
