Hey Everyone!!!!
I'm guessing today has been a mixture of emotions in houses across Ballymitty & beyond.
I know some children are super excited about returning to school tomorrow. They will bound up the path & not take a 2nd glance at parents at the gate. On the other hand, there are children who anxious & worried about the return. And of course, there are children in between, excited but alittle anxious. These are all very normal feelings to have.
Tomorrow will be a settling back in type of day! We will soon fall back into the classroom routines of lining up, handwashing, sanitising, hands up, taking turns, eating lunches, heading out for ventilation breaks etc.
More than that, tomorrow will be a day of chatting & catching up with our friends, getting used to our new place/pod in the classroom, engaging in free play in the classroom, singing songs, doing some dance exercises & reading stories. As the week progresses all the other bits & pieces will be introduced slowly.

Parents,
Please be as positive as possible with your child, talk about any anxieties, give encouragement. Tomorrow is it really important that you move away quickly after dropping your child to school. I will be at the gate from 9.10 with the biggest smile, ready to greet eveyone. Remind your child to hold on to their books/workbook bag until they get inside. There will be boxes outside the classroom door in which to drop into.
There will not be any homework for this week.
Looking forward to a successful & safe return to school. I will be keeping an eye on my email this evening so if there is anything I need to know for tomorrow please let me know - ballymittydfraney@gmail.com
A finally word of thanks & grateful appreciation to everyone for the amazing online engagement for these past number of weeks. Parents, you have been true SUPERHEROES!
See you all tomorrow,
Deirdre
