Parents and Friends Group - important Christmas news re Christmas Jumper exchange etc

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Last night, the Parents and Friends Group had a very productive meeting and the following 3 items were discussed and planned:

1. Christmas Jumpers and Costume Exchange

What is this exchange?

As we all know the kids enjoy wearing Christmas outfits, jumpers etc to school from Dec. 1st each year. It is a great idea to recycle the jumpers to avoid spending lots of money each year. So we are asking parents to reach into the wardrobes and send in any jumpers that are clean, washed and in good condition. Or perhaps there are kids' costume outfits (superheros, princesses etc) that can be recycled also. Last day to send in items will be Weds. Nov. 20th.

When will the Jumper Exchange be?

When the jumpers/outfits are sent in, we will have a Christmas Jumper Sale on Thurs. November 21st from 2 - 4pm in the GP room. The P&FG will organise the jumpers/outfits into sizes and all will be sold for €5 each.

What do parents need to do?

Pop the jumpers you wish to recycle into a bag and these can be dropped to Helena up to Weds. Nov. 20th.

2. Christmas Calendars

What are the Christmas Calendars?

These are calendars with photos of all the classes and school activities. They make lovely Christmas presents for family and friends. They will be on sale for €10 each. We will take the class photos for the Calendar on this Thurs. Nov. 7th in the school.

As part of the Calendars, we will ask parents/local businesses to put in ads for €50 each. These ads will need a pdf photo of your business logo. We will send out forms for parents to express an interest in putting in an ad over the coming weeks.

When will the Calendars be on sale?

Once you order your calendars online they will be ready the week of Dec. 16th so they will be handed out to the children going home. Some will also be on sale for some of our school Christmas productions.

What do parents need to do?

Make sure your child has their school uniform on for the photos this Thurs.

We will send out a form online in mid November so that you can order how many calendars you wish to buy. Helena will then send an Aladdin link to all parents so that you can pay for them online.

3. Late Late Toy Show Treat Bags

What are the Toy Show Treat Bags?

As a fundraiser, the P&FG are going to make up treat bags for the great price of €5 for the kids for the Toy Show on Dec. 6th. These bags will have some treats, chocolates, sweets etc. They will be sent home with the kids on Friday Dec. 6th in time for the Toy Show!

How do you order a Toy Show Treat Bag?

We will send out a form online for you to order. They can be ordered for all the family! And Helena will send an Aladdin link for payment online. We know many shops and businesses do them but we are asking parents to support this small fundraiser for our school.

What do parents need to do?

Keep an eye out online for the form to order your Toy Show Treat Bags. Keep an eye out then for the Aladdin link to pay for them.

At our meeting we established different parents to share relevant information across the class WhatsApp groups.

Please share this article across the Class WhatsApp groups!

Well done to the P&FG for their great ideas and enthusiasm!
