School Tour Information - 6th Class

Dear Parents/Guardians,

For our school tour this year, 6th Class will travel to Dunmore Adventure Centre in Dunmore East, Co. Waterford. We will complete a range of indoor activities on the day, as well as making a splash on the ‘Wibit Wipeout Aquapark’, Ireland’s biggest inflatable waterpark! After our activities in Dunmore Adventure Centre we will travel into Waterford City Centre to spend some time shopping and to grab a bite to eat in McDonalds.

The tour will take place on Thursday, 22nd June.

The bus will be leaving school at 8.30a.m sharp. We ask that children please be at school no later than 8.25a.m.

We will begin our activities in Dunmore Adventure Centre at 9.30a.m and we will depart Dunmore East for Waterford city at 3.30p.m.

We will leave Waterford city at 6.00p.m. and we aim to be back at school at 7.00p.m.

On the day, children will need to bring the following:

-A healthy packed lunch and plenty of water

-Sun cream

-Swimwear, towel and old runners/water shoes to wear in the water. If you have your own wetsuit you are permitted to bring it, however wetsuits will be provided on the day.

-Children are permitted to wear their own clothes on the tour. This must comprise of a tracksuit and runners due to the active nature of the tour. A second set of clothes is not needed.

As we have some funds leftover from last year’s Erasmus fundraiser, we are subsidizing the cost of the tour, meaning that the total cost to pay is €25. This is a saving of €38 euro per pupil and we offer our thanks to all for their fundraising efforts. This includes the cost of the bus and the Adventure Centre. Payment links have been sent out already by email. The title on the email is St. Joseph's NS - Request for Payment. You simply click on the link and it will lead you to your payment.

We would appreciate if all payments could be made before Friday 16th June 2023.

Please click on this link to give your child permission to go on the tour: http://ballymittyns.ie/Forms/Permission-for-6th-Class-pupils-to-go-on-their-school-tour-to-Dunmore-East/365762/Index.html

Children are permitted to bring a small amount of spending money for our trip to McDonalds and time in the shopping centre. We encourage children to use some money they have saved up or try to earn some money to put towards to cost of the tour.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us on rkehoe@ballymittyns.ie .

Looking forward to a fantastic last school tour at Ballymitty N.S!

King regards,

Ms. Rachel Kehoe
