Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome back to everyone and I wish everyone a healthy and happy New Year. Some updates:

Claire's Art Class after school will continue for another six weeks. Anyone who is interested in joining her next set of classes, please register here - http://ballymittyns.ie/Forms/Claires-Art-Class--Term-2/3121852/Index.html
Anyone who was in the previous class must re-register. Classes will begin on Monday Jan. 19th from 3 - 4.30pm and the cost if 10 euros per week per child.

GAA - we will be back to 8.30am GAA next Friday morning with Liam, David and Donal. For that 8.30am session and for the classes every Friday, we are now switching to hurling. So for the rest of this year, all pupils will need helmets and hurls.

Carpark opposite the school - bulding works will commence opposite the school for the new hall in the coming weeks. All parents/guardians reminded that the carpark opposite the school will be out of action for the duration of the works. All users to park in church car park.

Coding - 6 weeks of coding lessons started in school on Tuesday. Some of the payment for this is coming from our school Lotto however we do require parents to pay per pupil. An Aladdin link has been sent out to all parents for this payment.

Chess Club - we had 27 pupils in our chess club yesterday which was super! It is great to see our experienced chess players helping the younger ones. We will be picking two teams to enter into the inter school Chess tournament coming up in March.

Scór competition - This will be held on Weds. Jan. 28th in Carrig Hall. Parents are welcome to go along. It usually starts at 10am. We are entering the following: a music group, a ballad/singing group, two solo singers, 2 recitations, 1 set dancing group and 1 novelty act/drama group. The Scór drama group are practising every Friday at 8.30am starting tomorrow. The singing and dancing groups will be practising every Weds. from next week.
