Weekly Update from Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful sunshine - children have loved it all week! A reminder to put on some sunscreen everyday. We ask pupils to try to only wear navy/black or the GAA shorts.

Some upcoming items and reminders:

GAA

8.30am GAA continues every Tuesday for the junior end and every Friday for the senior end. All pupils need their hurls/helmets every Friday for the month of May. In June we will be doing rounders.

Rounders

The next Rounders game is next Friday in Fethard. A bus will be booked and we will send out an Aladdin link for €5 per pupil.

Erasmus

We wish our Erasmus group all the best on their travels next Monday to Spain. They are leaving at 1am from the school car park and we wish them a safe and enjoyable trip. They will visit the school we have linked with in Vila-Seca, Tarragona on Tuesday. On Weds. we visit the city of Tarragona and on Thursday we raise the adrenalin levels in Port Aventura! You can keep an eye on our travels on the website where we will send daily updates!

We also found out today that we have been granted a further €12996 for next year's Erasmus programme which will involve staff members travelling to schools in Europe with the purpose of building links so that pupils can visit in the year 2026/2027. We are currently making links with a school in Murcia, Spain and also in the Dordogne region of France.

Help needed in the school

Thanks to the parents who have offered to help with grass cutting and painting! You can read those requests for help on the website! We appreciate everyone's support.

School's 75th Anniversary celebrations

A reminder that the Parents and Friends Group will be in on Tuesday May 13th to help put up photos around the school. All help greatly appreciated!

We have asked children to help out on the day of the celebrations by singing, dancing, playing music, singing on the choir at the mass etc. We will let you know more about that in the coming weeks.

First Holy Communion

A reminder to the 2nd class parents that this takes place at 11am on Saturday May 17th in Ballymitty Church.

Thanks everyone,

Audrey
