Good morning Parents/Guardians,
Over the next couple of weeks, the children in Junior Infants, Senior Infants & 1st class will be participating in the Mighty Mouth Programme, teaching children how to look after their teeth. This programme was developed by The Dental Health Foundation, Ireland. It will be delivered by the class teachers for 3 lessons & Tracey, an oral Health promotor with the HSE, will come speak to the children on the 4th lesson. Tracey will also pay a visit to 5th & 6th classes to remind them of the importance of oral health hygiene.
We will be teaching them how to brush their teeth properly & how to choose foods & drinks that are tooth-friendly. There is a parent guide to accompany this programme which has been copied for you. These leaflets should answer some of the questions you may have about your child’s teeth. They will go home today with the pupils from Junior Infants - 1st classes.
