Hi Sixth Class.
Click here for this week’s video.
It’s hard to believe that this would have been your last week in primary school! It has been a difficult few months for all our pupils, but in particular for you. The final weeks in Sixth Class are usually a time of great excitement and emotion with school tours, sports activities, farewells and graduation. This year however, due to the unprecedented pandemic our school year has concluded on a different note. We are very proud of how responsible and mature you have been throughout the past few months and how you have handled the situation. Although we were unable to enjoy your last few weeks in school, we look forward to celebrating your achievements and your time in St. Joseph’s N.S at our Graduation Ceremony.
Graduation: We have decided that Graduation will now be on Monday 29th of June at 7pm, in order to fit in with outdoor numbers allowed under phase 3 of government regulations from June 29th. If the weather is good, we will have the graduation outside on the basketball court and immediate family members are welcome (parents and siblings). If it is to rain, we will hold it inside, in the GP room. Following government regulations this will mean that we can only have 50 people indoors. In this case we will ask that only 1 parent attends the graduation with their child. Thank you for all your cooperation.
Health and Safety Guidelines for Graduation
Each family will have their own area on basketball court.
We will start at 7pm and finish at 8pm.
We ask parents and pupils not to gather in school car park before and after.
We will have a small snack and a drink for each family.
If the GP room is used due to rain there must only be one pupil and one parent due to social distancing.
We appreciate your support with these measures as we really want to hold the graduation but we must adhere to guidelines.
If you cannot make it on June 29th please let us know by emailing ballymittyteachers@gmail.com
For our final week of online learning we will be having a Wellbeing Week. I hope you enjoy the various activities. Click here to see the Wellbeing grid. There are also two virtual sports days included.
Zoom Call: There will be a Sixth Class Zoom call this Tuesday 23rd of June to have a little chat about graduation. I will be looking for people to do a little reading/prayer on the night so we will discuss this on Zoom. I hope to see everyone there. I will send out the Zoom meeting ID and password details as a message through our school app on Monday evening.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at our Graduation on Monday 29th of June!
Enjoy your final week of online learning and well done on all of your fantastic work to date.
