Cooking/Baking Ideas

I received some lovely photos of homemade Valentine’s biscuits, which were made by following the recipe that I sent last Friday.

Mmmmmm…. biscuits!

Did anyone make the pepperoni pizza?

Mmmmm…. I do love pizza too!

Below you will find a couple of nice ideas to try out this week…

Pancakes

Making Pancakes

Pancake Day is tomorrow so the Middletown Centre for Autism’s team has shared these resources to give you time to buy the ingredients today and to allow your child a little bit of time to familiarise themselves with the steps in the task.

You have a choice of 3 resources to pick from, depending on which one will best suit the learning style of your child. Select the one which will be easiest for them to follow. For more concrete learners, simply set out the utensils and ingredients in the correct sequence.

All children will of course require close help/supervision, especially when cooking the pancakes.

It is a good opportunity to involve children and young people in food preparation, which may then motivate them to sample what they make. Offering a choice of toppings can also encourage them to try new flavours.
