Happy Summer Everyone!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Our final message for the year!

School finishes at 12 midday today!

Good news for our school!

Today we found out that we are one of 40 schools in parts of Leinster that have been chosen to have retrofit work done. There will be initial assessments and surveys carried out in the coming weeks to see if our school is eligible. The target would be to upgrade our BER rating to at least a 'B'. If we are eligible, there would be work carried out to totally retrofit our school to include new windows, doors, insulation, renewable heating,, mechanical ventilation, LED lighting, solar systems and new heating. There could be to the tune of almost €2 million! This is fantastic news and would future proof our building! We will begin in the initial assessment stage over the next few weeks to determine if we are eligible or not. I am very hopeful!

School Calendar for next year - please click here: School Calendar 2024 2025.pdf

We return to school on Thurs. August 29th.

School booklists, stationery and other reminders for the start of the school year will go out next week.

Any families leaving us will be deleted from the App to allow us to add our incoming Junior Infants.

The school office will close on Friday July 12th at 3pm and it will reopen on Monday August 26th.

Bodibro 6th class hoodies

These have been ordered and we ask that parents pay for them using the Aladdin link which was re-sent yesterday. We need final payment on those by Friday July 5th.

July Provision/Summer Programme

For those who are taking part in the summer programme, it starts at 10am on Monday morning. All of the pupils will need to bring their lunches as we will not have Freshtoday hot lunches. It finishes at 2pm each day and the last day of the Summer Programme is Friday July 12th.

Finally, I want to wish all of our school community a very Happy Summer Holiday!

I want to say thank you and well done to our wonderful pupils who inspire us every day and we hope that you have all had a good year in Ballymitty NS.

We wish our 6th class a fond farewell and we look forward to hearing all about your new schools.

I thank Mary Hayward, our Chairperson and our Board of Management for their continued support.

And I thank most sincerely the wonderful team up here in the school. It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a very special team to care for, nourish and encourage your children everyday. Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir.

Slán libh,

Have a wonderful summer everyone,

Audrey and staff
