Hi to 1st and 2nd Class

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well. Thank you to everyone who joined in on our zoom call during the week. For anyone who was unavailable I plan to do another one the last week of school and I would love if you could join us then.

This week is a slightly different week in terms of choice boards. To access the video, please click here. Instead of receiving one choice board, we have designed two different ones. These are based on two virtual school tours. The virtual school tours we have chosen are: Áras an Uachtaráin and TheAquarium. These will allow the children to learn more about these places in a fun & interactive way, despite being at home.

These two very different tours will give you 24 fun learning activities to try out during the week. Over the week we cover Maths, Literacy, Gaeilge, Music, S.P.H.E., Art, SESE and other activities like learning how to pack a lunch for the tour.

We kindly suggest that you continue to cover the Stay Safe programme at home. This week's topic is Topic 3, Lesson 2: Dealing with Inappropriate touch. This is a very important and sensitive topic. I encourage that you try your best to cover the content.

Important note: School will open on Friday June 12th from 10am - 3pm for the following:

  • For parents to return any rental books to school such as Planet Maths, Read at Home, etc.
  • For parents to return any readers (such as PM readers for the junior end) and any library books that your child is finished with. (We have no problem allowing parents to borrow school library books until the libraries in town re-open)
  • For parents to collect items such as dictionaries, calculators, tinwhistles, pencil cases, art work etc. These will be left in family bundles in the GP Room.
  • School reports will be left on family bundles also.

Please follow all public health guidelines and we ask you to remember the following:

  1. Parents to line up 2 metres apart at marked out areas.
  2. Only one family (parents only) at a time will be allowed to access the building.
  3. Parents will enter through main school entrance door and exit through GP room door.

We ask you all to make a huge effort to collect all items and return school rental books. We do need to do a big clean in our school and therefore ensure that all pupil equipment/materials are sent home.

That is all for now. I hope everyone has a great week!

Kindest Regards,

Ms. Hannigan
