Dear Parents/Guardians,
First full week done! Well done to one and all.
A few reminders/information:
Junior Infants Parents' Meeting
This will be held at 7pm on Monday Sept. 20th for Junior Infant parents. We ask that only one parent comes to the meeting as we need to keep numbers to a minimum for Covid reasons. Meetings in school for parents are only essential but we deem this to be essential as we need to go through a lot of important information for parents as their children begin their primary school journey.
Parent/Teacher Meetings
These are permitted this year thankfully and they will be held on Tuesday/Thursday November 23rd/25th.
Confirmation:
This is still going ahead on Saturday September 25th. We will begin rehearsals in school for this year's 6th class next week on Tuesday and Thursday. For last year's 6th class there won't be any practice but we will have some readings and prayers ready for the pupils.
This year's 6th class will be confirmed at 11am. Last year's 6th class will be confirmed at 1pm.
With churches allowed 50% capacity, each child will be allowed 4 adults/family members with them. 2 of those will stand as your sponsors. So for clarity, each row in the church will have 5 people per family. Twins will get two rows of 5.
6th Class
Our 6th class teacher Ms. Rachel Kehoe will be in touch with 6th class parents with her new email address.
Book Bills
Please ensure all books are paid by Friday September 24th. Use the Aladdin link for payment.
Pupil Insurance
Please see article during the week re: payment for pupil insurance. This is to be paid using the Aladdin link also. See information here: http://ballymittyns.ie/News/Pupil-Insurance/360433/Index.html
Pupils who receive extra support from our Special Education teachers (SET)
Ms. Bohanna, one of our SET teachers, will message parents of pupils who receive extra supports next week. We usually ask parents to fill in a Parent/Guardian Input form so that you can update Ms. Bohanna with any reports, diagnoses and important information. This information can be filled out online as a form. We will send relevant parents the link for the form on Monday.
Pupil Committees
Today all of our pupils in 4th - 6th were very busy putting forward their own manifestos for elections onto our four pupil committees - Active School, Green School, Student Council and European Development Team. 3rd class will put their manifestos forward on Monday! It is always wonderful to hear the ideas that the pupils have and it gives all our pupils a voice. We will update the Pupil Committees section of our website when we have our newly elected committees.
Well done to all our pupils and staff - happy weekend everyone!
Audrey and staff.
