Sing Out Loud - 3rd and 4th classes

Dear Parent/Guardians of 3rd and 4th class pupils,

Our 3rd and 4th class pupils will take part in the Sing Out Loud Concert Experience at the National Opera House in Wexford this November. The date has been set for our school which is Monday Nov. 11th .

What is the Sing Out Loud concert?

It is an evening performance beginning at 7.30pm for the parents but the pupils must be dropped in for 4.30pm for rehearsals. There are always a few schools who come together to perform on the night as well as other local Wexford talent such as Extreme Rhythm etc. Amy Penston is the child conductor for the concert with the pupils.

How do the children rehearse for it?
To ensure everyone is well rehearsed and ready, they have sent each school an audio file so our budding superstars can practice at home. You can access this resource at: https://bit.ly/singoutloudWX24 The pupils will rehearse in school also as a whole group which will be the basis of their music lessons for the coming weeks.

What happens on the day?

The children must be dropped to the Opera House for 4.30pm that evening where some of the staff will be present. Kids should wear blue jeans, sneakers (any colour, any style), and a plain-coloured t-shirt (just no black or white, please). The concert will be finished by 9.15pm sharp. There will no homework on that night for 3rd and 4th classes.

How do parents get to see the show?

Sing Out Loud recommend purchasing tickets through the school using the booking form which we will send out to everyone tomorrow. The deadline
for direct school bookings is Wednesday, October 16th, 2024 - don’t miss out! After this date, tickets will be available directly through the National Opera House in early November. You can call (053) 9122144 or visit www.nationaloperahouse.ie to purchase. Ticket prices through the National Opera House are: Adults - €20 and Children - €15 (+Booking Fees). Please note that group bookings won't be available through the National Opera House.

This is a guaranteed evening of musical fun that your family will remember for years to come! And a huge privilege for the kids to perform in the Opera House.

This is an inclusive whole class experience for all pupils in 3rd and 4th and while some may not be interested as much as others in music, singing and performance we expect all of the 3rd and 4th class pupils to partake. Special arrangements can be made for pupils on the night in relation to wearing ear defenders, toileting etc.

Thanks everyone,

Audrey
