Good morning everyone,
I hope that you all enjoyed Active Week last week. We were certainly blessed with some great days weather-wise, so I have no doubt that everyone managed to get out and about.
A massive ‘thank you’ to those of you who sent on videos of their family members singing and signing along to Ireland’s Call. Well done! You were all fantastic!
This week we will be learning the ‘Lámh Colours Song’. The pupils of An Choill Bheag are very fond of this one! I will teach you the individual keywords signs that are required for the song and then, once you have learned the individual signs, you can practise using them by clicking on the link to the song itself (as usual, the Lámh links are at the bottom of this page).
Having learned the signs and the song about colours, you might be inspired to go outside and create a lovely colourful masterpiece using balloons and water colours (or food colouring) with your siblings and/or parents.

Painting is a great form of therapy, don’t you think?! Click here for some more lovely sensory activities that you could also try out, including using any leftover balloons to make squishies/stress balls and/or making colourful and calming homemade sensory bottles.
I know that there are lots of grandparents and great grandparents who are missing spending time with their grandchildren at the moment (and vice versa). If you have (a) grandparent(s) that you would like to surprise, then maybe you could brighten up their week by downloading and printing this colouring page and colouring it brightly.

And if your grandparent(s) live(s) close by, maybe you could bring along some homemade biscuits to give them too?!
Alternatively, you could write a letter to the residents of Grantstown Daycare Centre & Community Village. Our school choir have visited the Daycare Centre over the years and we are always made to feel so welcome. I'm sure that both the staff and residents would be thrilled to receive some correspondence from our school.
Don't foget to email me at ballymittyteachers@gmail.com if you have any queries or any photos/videos that you would like to share.
In the meantime, I hope that the week ahead will be full of fun, activity and colour for you all.
Ms. Casey.
