First Day of 2nd Class
Meet all of our wonderful 2nd Class Pupils.
Queen Elizabeth II
We were very sad to hear about the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. We have been busy learning about Queen Elizabeth II. We listened to a story about her life, created a Queen Elizabeth II Timeline and created a Flip Book All About Queen Elizabeth II. She loved horses and dogs and her favourite dog was a corgi.
Line Painting Monsters
We explored water colour techniques to create colourful monsters. First we drew some line patterns with oil pastels. Then, we painted over the oil pastels with watercolours. Finally, we cut out faces for our monsters.
Friendship Week
We had a wonderful 'Friendship Week'. We talked about friendship, had a friendship assembly with Ms. McCarthy, visited 4th class for buddy reading, and sang as the choir for our Friendship Week School Mass and much much more.

We were thrilled to have Becky and Abbie in from the Red Moon Theatre Group. We really enjoyed our drama lesson with them.

We sketched out some sample designs on our whiteboards before we started designing our letters.
Our Class is a Family
We read the story 'Our Class is a Family'. We then talked about how our class is a family. Here is our Class Family Display.
Back to School Activities
We played a 'Back to School' board game which helped us to get to know our partners even better! We also completed a partner interview activity.
Bookmarks
We designed new bookmarks to keep track of our reading this year.
Gaeilge
In our Irish lessons we have been learning about 'Mé Féin'. We have been practising new Comhrá questions and we learned the song 'Hocaí Pocaí'.
S.P.H.E.
During our S.P.H.E. lessons we were talking about our idols and people we look up to.
We also discussed the things we are good at. We designed flowers showing all the things we are good at.
P.E.
We have been practicing our basketball skills this month. Here we are chest passing, bounce passing and shooting into the new basketball hoops.
We started G.A.A. with Adam. We are so excited to be doing football again in school.
